This is a design for a miniature printing press, adapted from the Provisional Press. It was redesigned for ease of assembly, while maintaining many of the same features. The pieces are all cut from 3/16" plywood, and keyed into place using tabs and slots. All pieces are subsequently glued together for rigidity. This is the press used by the Kitchen Lithography workshop.

Safe Operating Procedure:

Before using:

  • Ensure that all bolts are sufficiently tightened.
  • Ensure that no debris exists in the print tray.
  • Use dunnage to lift the print block to the correct height for printing. Roller should experience some resistance when rolling over the dunnage and block.

While using:

  • Keep fingers clear of the roller.

After using:

  • Clean up any spills, and return any dunnage to the proper area.
