Safe Operating Procedure:

Before using:

  • Make sure the fume hood is plugged in, turned on, and the filter media is properly installed.
  • Always wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from molten solder and flying debris while soldering.

While using:

  • Place the workpiece into the fixture, or if the workpiece is too large, place it near the front opening of the hood.
  • Place the soldering pen holder near the opening as well, to capture any fumes released when not in use.
  • When soldering, keep the pen and work close enough to the hood that fumes are adequately captured.

After using:

  • Clean any debris or waste from the inside of the hood.
  • Unplug and store the hood and power supply together.
